Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina
Just over the bridge from Hilton Head Island, Crescent Pointe Golf Club puts all golfers through their paces.
It's a cerebral course, where one can't just blast away and hope for the best. Each hole requires you to formulate a plan right from the tee to end up on the green in regulation. Once there, the greens have some undulations, but they aren't severe.
With greens that both descend and rise, Crescent Pointe is a break from the usual along the South Carolina coast. Atop that, the scenery is gorgeous -- and Arnold Palmer made the most of it, especially with the ninth hole that extends into the marsh.
Palmer really worked his magic on this Lowcountry gem, which will keep you on your toes from start to finish.
