The Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island

The Arthur Hills golf course is one of three championship courses at Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island. The Hills course doesn't need length to be regarded as one of Hilton Head's toughest rounds of golf. It plays under 6,700 yards from the championship tees and under 6,200 from the men's.

After a relatively tame opening hole with little trouble and a wide fairway, the test begins on the second hole, a short par 4 with a second shot that plays well over water to a guarded green.

The 17th has become the course's most famous hole: a dogleg left with an undulating fairway that requires an often sloping lie over water to a shallow green. Tiger Woods yielded eight shots to the 17th during his college years here.
